In 2019, Junaid and Angela made the transition from Japan to Racine, embarking on a new culinary venture by establishing Chit Chaat. Angela, originally from Racine, had been teaching English in Japan where she crossed paths with Junaid, hailing from Pakistan.
Longing for the authentic flavors of his homeland, Junaid sought guidance from his mother via video calls to master the art of Pakistani cuisine. With Angela’s unwavering support, Junaid set out to realize his dream of introducing the vibrant and savory dishes of his heritage to their new community. Tasia White, a Racine, Wisconsin native, has woven a life imbued with boundless love and illumination within her hometown. Having graduated from UW-Parkside and Alverno University, she initially embarked on a career in education, serving as both a teacher and later a principal for six years. However, Tasia’s passion for cooking has been ingrained in her since childhood, inspired by her late mother, Tammy Collier, and her affectionate grandmothers.
Her fascination with cooking ignited during her teenage years when she delved into Rachel Ray’s 30-minute meals. This passion for culinary arts never waned, even as she pursued her career in education. Tasia remained steadfast in her purpose, infusing her dishes with love and witnessing the joy they brought to those around her, a testament to the warmth of her creations.
